DIY: Homemade Hologram Projection Box

Published on July 13, 2016 by in Fashion

Have you ever wanted to make your own hologram projector but thought it was hard? Well, read the instructions below and you will see that it will take you less than 20 minutes to create it.

Let’s begin!

Things you will need:

  • Shoe box
  • Clear plastic paper or glass
  • Scissors
  • Tape or glue
  • Tablet or smartphone

Instructions:

  1. First place your tablet or smart phone at the top of the box, as shown in the picture below, so you can measure where you will cut the box. Mark those spots and cut the excess part off the box.
  2. Don’t throw the parts you just cut off. Simply tape them or glue them back to the box. The result is that you have a whole box once again only in the shape of your device.
  3. Next cut a rectangular piece at the front and leave about an inch on each side.
  4. Finally cut the clear plastic paper so it fits diagonally in your box.

*Optional: Paint the inside of your box black or, as I did, put the remaining pieces of your box inside if you have a black box. The black background will intensify the projection.

Put your video on your device, place it at the top of the box and you have your own hologram!

If you don’t know how to make a video suitable for a hologram projection, don’t worry there are plenty of samples on youtube. Just make sure to look for one sided hologram projection video.

Enjoy!

Back to School – Staying organized

Published on August 4, 2015 by in Fashion
Agenda Notebook Organization

Agenda – Notebook

With the new school year around the corner and the new semester starting I decided to write a post about one of my favorite obsessions. Organizing! I believe that a huge part in succeeding and having maximum performance in school and college is keeping your homework and life organized. Here are some tips you can follow to achieve your goals easily this year.

Agenda is the most important thing in this whole process. I find it hard sometimes to keep up with my schedule and the things I have planned, procrastination is my biggest enemy. One thing that helps me stay focused on my schedule is customizing my agenda and personalizing it to be more appealing and more girly to me. I want to be inspired the moment I open my agenda so I can get in the mood of keeping up with the schedule. A few great and affordable ways to customize your agenda is by using washi tape, highlighters and colourful pens. Write down your homework and its due dates, the bills you need to pay, important events and your vacations.

If you think that school and homework is taking all of your time and is making your life dull, try keeping an inspirational book. Get a notebook and personalize it the way that you want and inside you can write every great idea that comes to your mind so you can look it back when you have a little bit more time. Also you can write all the inspirational quotes that motivate you so you can read them back when you lose your sparkle. That way you can find your goals and dreams more easily and it will make it harder to lose your path.

My phone is equipped with some great apps to keep some of the more important things in case i forget my agenda. Awesome Calendar Lite is an app that you can add notes, important events, tasks and anything important you need to remember. Pink Pad is a great app to keep track of your period and it reminds you every time it’s about to come. Last but not least Spending is a lifesaver if you want to keep track of your money and spendings. As a college student it helps me to keep track of what I spend and where I spend it through a very useful chart.

These are some basic things you can do to motivate you and get your life organized. Hope you found the useful.

Flash Tattoos Feathers

Flash Tattoos – Feathers – Flowers

I remember, when I was a little girl, I couldn’t wait until summer came so I could eat ice cream, but not just any ice cream. I would get the pink girly one with the gift inside! Usually that gift was a girly non-permanent tattoo that I would stick on my shoulder the moment I got it. Well, these tattoos are back in style, but this time in a more fashionable, chic, more metallic and grown-up way. They are called flash tattoos and they make the ultimate summertime accessory. Usually they come in silver or gold so they look like a piece of jewelry but in a great range of shapes, from diamond shaped and stripes to flowers and feathers. You can change them every day and be as creative as you want. I prefer to wear mine as they were a jewelry piece that I can wear without worrying losing it while swimming too. You can be discrete with them or wear them as a statement piece. It’s the total summer must have and it will transform your whole look in 30 seconds. All you need to do is find a great place to stick them and with a wet towel or sponge press it for 30 seconds and voila!

Be creative, be bold and you will sparkle through summer!

Product Review: Bourjois Bio Detox Organic Foundation

Published on August 13, 2012 by in Fashion

Bourjois Bio Detox Organic Foundation

I have tried many drugstore foundations but recently I’ve been loving the Bourjois Bio Detox Organic Foundation. The color that I use I believe it’s called Vanilla, it’s for light skin colors and it matches my skin tone almost perfectly. I have oily and acne prone skin and this foundation works great with my skin, it doesn’t feel greasy at all plus it doesn’t make me break out which a lot of liquid foundations tend to do. There’s no SPF in it so it doesn’t leave your skin looking shiny, instead it gives you a great matte finish which shows great in pictures too. As for the application I find that it best works using my fingers instead of brushes and sponges because it glides more easily. Another think that I noticed is that because it’s paraben and silicon free it doesn’t glide on your skin smoothly so before the application put some moisturizer. The packaging is also really good, you can see how much product you have left plus it has a pump so you can pour out the product more easily. This foundation has a great coverage, it is buildable and it lasts for about 4-5 hours, plus I’ve noticed that I don’t need as much concealer as I used to with other foundations. To quickly sum it up, I think that this is a great everyday foundation with a very light consistency which leaves your skin to breath while having a very good coverage.

Three Tips For Perfect Skin

Published on July 7, 2012 by in Fashion

Tips For Perfect Skin

Your skin during the day suffers from all the products that you put on, the pollution and the sun and it needs your daily attention to be perfect. Three important things that my mum has taught me and things that I’ve learnt through experience are to always cleanse your face, always moisturize and always use sun protection.

Cleansing your skin

Cleansing your skin every day is very important. You must always take off your make-up and never sleep with it. Not cleansing your skin daily causes your pores to plug up making your skin feel oily and break-out. Once in a while you should deep clean and exfoliate your skin so all the dirt can come off. I’ve found that make-up wipes don’t work that well and make-up doesn’t completely come off. The best combination is after you wipe off your make-up with the wipes use a cleansing gel or soap to take it off completely.

The products that I use to cleanse my skin are:

Johnson’s face care –Daily Essentials Make-up wipes

Castalia –Dermopur Gel Nettoyant

Make-up wipes and cleansing gel

Moisturizing

Moisturizing is a must for your skin. After you cleanse your skin you should always use a moisturizer because your skin can absorb more easily the cream, plus your skin tends to get drier after cleansing. Also in the mornings before you wear make-up or before you go out you should put on a moisture cream. It’s very important that you choose the right cream for you that matches best your skin type.

The moisturizer that I use is:

The Body Shop –Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream for Combination/Oily Skin

The Body Shop day cream

Using Sun Protection

A very important step that you should add to your daily routine is using sunscreen. The sun’s radiations can very easily damage your skin and making it grow older faster. It doesn’t matter if it’s summer or winter you should always wear sunscreen during the day not only on your face but on your lips to. There are a lot of lip balms that have SPF in them. To tell you the truth I’m a bit lazy when it comes to wearing sunscreen daily, so I’ve found some great products that have sun protection effects too. The one that I love and use almost every day is a tinted moisturizer that has SPF in it. You can also find make-ups that have SPF , the only downside is that the sunscreen the make-up has makes your skin look a bit shiny. Also important is to use an after sun cream, but that step is more about your body and not your face. What the after sun cream does, is that it moisturizes and cools your skin from the sun’s radiations because the sun tends to burn and dry out your skin.

The products that I use are:

Sunwards –Face Cream SPF 30

Korres –Watermelon Lightweight Tinted Moisturizer Oil Free SPF 30

Apivita –Suncare After Sun Cream-Gel

Korres –Mandarin Lip Butter Stick SPF 15

Sunscreen, moisturizer with SPF and lip balm with SPF

Pearls, Lace and Ruffles – A lifetime trend

Published on July 6, 2012 by in Fashion

Pearls, Lace, Ruffles

Pearls, lace and ruffles, three things that have been in fashion for centuries now. From Marie Antoinette to every modern girl in the world, pearls, lace and ruffles have played an important part to women’s style evolution. Although in the past you would find them only in the richest families, nowadays they’re everywhere, from runways and little boutiques to your local stores and your everyday wardrobe. These work with almost every style, you can go from preppy and sophisticated to flirty and romantic to edgy and sexy. You can completely transform your look and making it stand out just by adding a single piece. Some may say that they’re only for formal occasions, but in my opinion it only depends on how you style something and how you match everything together; you can make your outfit look casual or formal. Pearls, laces and ruffles are three things that will never ever go out of style and they will keep making our outfits look more glamorous than ever.Martini glass and pearl bracelet

Summer Faves

Published on July 5, 2012 by in Fashion

Coral Lovers

As summer is half way through, one thing that makes me begin my days cheerfully is adding a pop of color. Coral is at the top of my choices! The pinkish-orange shades of coral transform every outfit from plain to stunning. From coral shorts, shoes or a sheer top to wearing just a vibrant coral lipstick can really brighten up your day. Accessories with coral gems can definitely make a statement.

Navy Trend

Navy is one of my favorite summer trends. The outfits just scream summer! From blue and white stripes to anchor accessories make me even more impatient to jump right into the blue sea or take long walks near the boats under the moon. Navy blue and white gives you a more sophisticated look while adding pops of red and gold details makes it more playful and feminine.

Floral Prints Everywhere

Floral prints are everywhere from clothes and shoes to bags and accessories. Just by adding a single piece of floral you can instantly feel the summer vibe! Although floral prints are more of a spring trend, I think that it suits summer perfectly too. Wearing floral shorts or a floral bathing suit and pairing it with a braided headband and some sandals, your outfit immediately screams summer!
